Billie Clark
July 12 11:00 AM Faith and Loyalty. Cindy Singh, our Hindu UU, will lead us in an explorations of the two virtues, Faith and Loyalty, with a Hindu spin.

July 19 11:00 AM Friendship is more that acquaintance and involves more than affection. Genuine friendships take time and effort to make and work to keep. Richelle Lanning will share her experience as a Friend. Come to the All Souls Annual Summer Picnic after service.

Richelle Lanning
July 26 11:00 AM Compassion. The seeds of compassion are sown in our very nature as human beings. Arlene Anderson will lead us in an examination of the nature of compassion. " there but for the grace of God, go I. "

Arlene Anderson
August 2 11:00 AM Work. Come and join us for tales and songs about work. Maybe we can learn something. Jim Fulton
August 9 11:00 AM Perserverence. Stick-to-it-ness has a lot to do with getting the right answers" "Don't be afraid to give your best to what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves." ~Dale Carnegie Carlene Cloud
August 16 11:00 AM Courage. The brave person is not one who is never afraid. People of courage are afraid....they just move through their fear to the next step. So, who and what is a HERO? We will explore COURAGE and how we can be BRAVE in the small trials of our lives. " Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. " Thomas Edison . This is a multi-generational service. Patti Logan

August 30 11:00 AM Joy. Cheryl D'Angelo-Gary will finish off our summer program and our examination of Virtues with a focus on Joy. Learn to enjoy what you do; rather than do what you enjoy. It is not always possible to do things that one enjoys. But if you learn the art of joyful living, even seemingly boring chores can bring you joy. "Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with" Mark Twain. Cheryl D'Angelo
Sept. 6 11:00 AM Water Communion. Coming together for a traditional Water Communion. Bring sample of water from your travels or from some where special that has meaning to you. We will join the waters to symbolize our coming back together for the next church year full of hope and promise of deepening our spiritual journey as a community Billie Clark
Sept. 13 11:00 AM Simple Answers in a Complex and Cynical World? The twentith century was characterized by a kind of rebellion against explicit expressors of idealism. Yet we all seem to crave simple formulae for success or happiness. How do we deal with our need for simple answers in a complex and cynical world? We will welcome again our friend from Tenneesse, Homer Wilkins. Homer Wilkins
Sept. 20 11:00 AM I Am .... Is Universalism just another religion among many? I suggest that our relationship to the faiths of the world is complex, interesting and unique. I will explore this idea with respect to the faiths depicted on the Phoenix Circle. Jim Fulton
Sept. 27 11:00 AM I Believe - A Universalist Catechism. UU's are often accused of not believing anything religious. The UU principles seem to be political principles, not religious ones. I suggest that there are some genuinely religious principles on which you and I, as universalists, probably agree. Jim Fulton
October 4 11:00 AM UU Association Sunday.
1:00 PM Phoenix Communion. Jim Fulton
October 11 11:00 AM .
October 18 11:00 AM .
October 25 11:00 AM The Whole of which I Am a Part. Panentheism is the belief that God is the living universe, not some spirit outside the universe. God is to the universe as you and I are to our bodies. Whether you believe in such a theology, there seems to be something very spiritual about the idea that we are each contributing parts of a meaningful whole. Jim Fulton
November 1 11:00 AM .
November 8 11:00 AM .
November 15 11:00 AM A Purpose-Driven Life. Jim Fulton
November 22 11:00 AM Guest at Your Table.
November 29 11:00 AM .
December 6 11:00 AM .
December 13 11:00 AM Homeless in Your Home. UU's are activists when it comes to helping the homeless, especially this time of year. And well we should be. But what about people whose lives have sundered them from all sense of having a home? They have a stable place of residence, with no home to be found there. I suggest that this kind of homelessness is widespread and devastating. Jim Fulton
December 20 11:00 AM .
December 27 11:00 AM .
January 3 11:00 AM Phoenix Communion. Jim Fulton

The Pastoral Care Committee assures that community support of Members is appropriate to their need. Pastoral Care includes services such as visiting the sick, prearranging for Members to visit, and serving as a clearing house to provide counseling referrals or to coordinate a particular event, or providing temporary personal services to members. What situations call for pastoral care? How is it different from " listening " ? How do we " do " pastoral care? Everyone is invited to share their ideas about how we can minister to each other. Beginning Qi Gong. Qi Gong is an ancient Chinese health care system integrating physical postures, breathing techniques and focused intention. The “qi” means “breath” or “air” in Chinese, and by extension, “life force” or “dynamic energy”. Gong means work applied to a discipline or the resultant level of skill, so Qi Gong is thus “breath work” or “energy work”. These breathing and movements are practiced as a health maintenance exercise. The slow gentle movements of most Qi Gong forms can be easily adapted, even for the physically challenged, and can be practiced by all age groups.

Our 6 pm music meditation time in the sanctuary will be a time of group Qi Gong exercise starting July 24. All are invited for this seated (or standing) beginners’ instruction and practice, and all are welcome to stay for the guided meditation immediately following. Our guided meditation group is eclectic and relaxing at the same time….the leader and format changes week to week.

August 30 12:30

Team Talk. On August 30th, as it’s the fifth Sunday of the month, we will have a “team talk” after the service. In the past year we have accomplished a lot, and now we need to set priorities for this year.

What do we want to do? What can we do? What will help us grow? What is most important and what do we have the resources, people and money to do? These are some of the things to consider. Before evaluating each possibility, let’s brainstorm the many things we can do.

If we have many options to choose from, more people can become involved and feel gratified. We can choose to do more with the money we have and generate more money for what we need.

At the end of August, please come and share your suggestions. Your ideas need not be limited to what you would want to do, as others may pick up on your suggestion and modify or expand on it. In the end, you may want to be involved in it after all. Then again, with multiple choices, we can select what has the most potential.

Have a good summer and mark your calendar for August 30th.

(36) Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
(37) Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
(38) This is the first and great commandment.
(39) And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
(40) On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matthew 22:36-40
