Barbara Boyd
Reverend Barbara Boyd has been a member of All Souls UUC since 2005. She
has served All Souls in various capacities:
- Past Member of the Board of Trustees
- Teacher of Pastoral Care Classes
Barbara is an ordained pastor and certified Spiritual Healer through International Assembly of Spiritual Healers and Earth Stewards Congregations.
She received her BS in English and Music from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Calif. She received her Masters in Teaching from Seattle University in 1972, and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from University of Washington in 1976. She studied theology at the Episcopal School of Theology in Seattle, Washington. In the late 90’s she completed a two year post graduate intensive program for advanced certification in hypnotherapy, rebirthing, and bioenergetic psychodrama.
During the 1980’s she taught Pastoral Counseling at Seattle University’s Masters in Divinity, Masters in Theology and Masters of Pastoral Ministry programs where she also conducted supervisory seminars for pastoral student interns. She co=led the pastoral counseling laboratories. She was a volunteer chaplain at Grays Harbor Hospital during part of the 90’s along with co-facilitating a pastoral supervisory group of local Grays Harbor chaplains. She has been a full time psychotherapist from 1974—2008. She is public school certified (K—12) in English and music and was a adjunct instructor in creative writing and literature at Grays Harbor Community college.
